About Mr Walsh
Mr Graham Walsh is a specialist Knee Surgeon with over 15 years of experience as a consultant working at the Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust. He is also the Medical Director at Health Innovation Yorkshire and Humber, working at the forefront of innovation in healthcare.
He trained at the prestigious University College Medical School in London before moving back to his native Yorkshire. He went on to complete a fellowship in Knee Surgery in York, where he developed a specialist interest in knee solutions for young patients with arthritis.
In 2009 he was appointed a Consultant Knee surgeon at Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust. He joined the Health Innovation YH having been an Associate Medical Director at CHFT where he was also the Chief Clinical Information Officer overseeing digital transformation and innovation. He is a strong advocate for the use of technology in healthcare seeing it as an enabler to improve patient care and outcomes and recognises the importance of the patient’s involvement with transformation.
What we offer
Mr Walsh offers a comprehensive treatment regime for knee arthritis including both operative and non-operative options. Non-operative options including injections designed to delay the need for joint replacement. He is a key opinion leader for Bioventus and regularly teaches other surgeons how to manage early arthritis using Hyaluronic acid injection therapy.
Operatively he offers all options for joint replacement including Total knee replacements, Partial knee replacements, Custom fit knee replacements and the high functioning knee replacement, The Attune. He is also excited to offer the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Total and Partial Knee Replacements
He also offers a comprehensive revision knee practice, to manage joint replacements that have gone wrong. Using the latest revision implant, the Attune revision system.
Day Case Knee Replacements
Mr Walsh has pioneered Day Case knee replacement surgery in Huddersfield, carrying out over 800 replacements as a day case. He has received Awards and International recognition for this work and regularly speaks at conferences about this new technique. Graham Walsh is able to offer a wide range of consultancy services. He has a broad portfolio of experience in surgery, digital health and innovation.
He is employed as the Medical Director for Health Innovation Yorkshire and Humber and is involved in both local and national advisory boards. He is a Clinical advisor to the FDP programme, NHS Supply chain and GS1. He is a paid consultant to Ethicon, Depuy, Bioventus and BBraun and regular speaks at national conferences.
